Geothermal district heating modelling

This project involves the study of geothermal district heating networks are studied. Geothermal energy is a secure, green energy source which can provide base-load and can feed a district heating network. The aim of this project is to build a robust, applicable model for the design and the sizing of a geothermal district heating network, taking into account geothermal data, heat demand data as well as case-specific parameters. Additionally, the operational strategy of the installation will be studied in detail. Finally, the integration of the installation with a heat pump, in order to achieve further utilization of geothermal energy will be studied.
